SPICE simulation of a digital third order elliptical filter. A Laplace part implements a third order elliptical digital filter whose transfer function is H(z) = (1 – 0.60383z^-1 + 0.9274z^-2 + 0.10285z^-3)/(-0.4275 + 1.412z^-1 – 1.71679z^-2 + z^-3). The simulation shows the output, the phase response and the group delay, that, defined as the derivative of the phase shift with respect to frequency, actually is the slope of the phase response and it’s important to evaluate the phase shift between input and output singals to the different frequencies.
