Return to the program and click on the “Verify” button to validate the syntax:

After verifying the syntax, ensure that “Arduino Duemilanove or Nano w/ ATmega328” is selected from the “Tools/Board” menu:

At the end of the process, an error message will appear since the Arduino board is not connected. This message can be disregarded:

Instead, verify that the “applet” directory has been created in the same directory as the .pde file:
